Automation Engineer
About The Position
We’re looking for an Automation Engineer to design, build, and scale intelligent automation frameworks that ensure quality across complex, business-critical flows. This role goes beyond writing tests - you’ll own automation strategy, build platforms and tools, and leverage AI and agentic workflows to validate systems at scale.
You’ll be part of the Store R&D and will work closely with engineering, product, and data engineering to ensure reliability across high-impact domains such as Checkout journey, pricing, payments, localization, and other commerce flows.
We're looking for someone who goes beyond writing tests, an engineer at heart who understands systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for frontend and backend.
- Develop and maintain E2E, integration, and API tests that run efficiently in CI/CD.
- Mentor engineers and set automation standards and best practices
- Analyze test failures, debug complex issues, and continuously improve test reliability.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively suggest improvements.
- Work with cutting-edge tools and contribute to our internal testing infrastructure roadmap.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in automation development for complex systems.
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD processes and experience integrating tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and debugging tools.
- A passion for clean code, maintainable architecture, and scalable testing solutions.
- Team player with strong communication skills and a quality-first mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance or security testing.
- Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in QA methodologies and test strategy planning.
